How Do Solar Lights Work?

The latest generation photovoltaic cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the batteries, which then power the LED bulb at night. Since these lights are powered by solar energy, they should be placed in a location that receives full sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.

Do You Have a Shaded Courtyard?

While it’s not as convenient, you can still install rechargeable solar lights even in a shady area or during winter. We have solar lights with a separate solar module connected by a cable that can range from one to six meters, perfect for very dark outdoor areas. If you live in a rainy or winter region, your solar lights will still work, but they may be dimmer.

Why Isn’t My Solar Light Working Anymore?

Most often, the cause of malfunctioning lights is the rechargeable battery. Sometimes the batteries don’t charge or can’t retain power. Our best advice is to replace the solar battery with a regular battery, and you’ll quickly find out why your solar light isn’t working. It’s very rare for the solar panel itself to be the issue.

How to Recharge a Solar Light without Sunlight?

Solar panels can still absorb solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a window. So you can charge your solar lights without direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be lower, and the duration will be shorter.
