How do solar lights work?
The new generation of photovoltaic cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the rechargeable batteries, which then power the LED bulb at night. As the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in a location that receives maximum sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.
Do you have a very shaded courtyard?
It’s not as convenient, but you can have rechargeable solar lights even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar module connected by a cable that can range from two to six meters, ideal for heavily shaded outdoor areas. If you live in a rainy or winter region, your solar wall lights will still work but they will be weaker.
Why is my solar light not working anymore?
Often, the reason for a malfunction of your lights is the rechargeable battery. Sometimes the batteries don’t charge or don’t hold a charge. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular battery and you will immediately know why your solar light is not working. It is possible that the solar energy module is at fault, but this is very unlikely.
For more information, see our maintenance guide.
How to recharge a solar light without sunlight?
Solar cells continue to absorb solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a window. So you can recharge your solar lights without direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be lower and the lights will last for a shorter time.
