How Do Solar Lights Work?

The organic photovoltaic cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the rechargeable batteries, which then power the LED lights at night. Since the lights are supplied by solar energy, they should be placed in an area that receives plenty of sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.

What if You Don’t Have Direct Sunlight?

It’s not as easy, but you can still use solar lights even in colder regions. We have solar lights with a separate solar panel connected by a cable that can be placed up to ten meters away, perfect for shaded outdoor areas. If you live in a rainy or winter region, your solar lights will still work, but they may be less powerful.

My Solar Light Isn’t Working Anymore?

Often, the issue with malfunctioning solar lights is the rechargeable battery. It is common for batteries to not charge or hold a charge. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular battery, and you will quickly find out why your solar light is not working. It is very unlikely that the solar panel itself is the problem.

How to Charge a Solar Light Without Sunlight?

Solar cells will continue to absorb solar energy even on cloudy days or through glass. So you can charge your solar lights even in areas without direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be reduced, and the lights may not last as long.
