How Do Solar Lights Work?

Organic photovoltaic cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the batteries, which then power the light at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be positioned in an area that receives the maximum sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.

What if I Don’t Have Direct Sunlight?

While not as convenient, you can still install solar-powered lights even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar panel connected by a cable that can extend from three to ten meters, making them perfect for very dark outdoor spaces. If you live in a rainy or wintry region, your solar lights will still function, but they will be less powerful.

Why Isn’t My Solar Light Working?

Usually, the battery is the root cause of malfunctioning solar lights. Sometimes, the batteries may not charge or retain power. Our top tip is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular battery, and you will immediately know why your solar light is not working. It is very unlikely that the solar module is the issue.

How to Charge a Solar Light Without Sunlight?

Solar panels continue to absorb solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a glass. So, you can charge your solar lights without direct sunlight. However, the light will be weaker and will last for a shorter period of time.
