How do solar lights work?

Organic photovoltaic cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the rechargeable batteries, which then power the light bulb at night. As the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in a location that receives maximum sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.

What if you have a very shaded courtyard?

It’s not as straightforward, but you can still install solar-powered lights, even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a detachable solar panel connected by a cable that can vary from two to five meters, perfect for a very dark outdoor space. If you live in a rainy or winter region, your solar lights will still work, but they may be less bright.

Why is my solar light not working anymore?

Typically, the most common cause of malfunctioning lights is the rechargeable battery. It often happens that the batteries do not charge or hold the charge. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular one, and you will immediately know why your solar light is not working. It is rare for the solar energy module to be the cause of the issue.

How to recharge a solar light without sunlight?

Solar cells continue to store solar energy even in dark weather or through glass. So you can charge your solar lights outside direct sunlight. But the light will be less bright and last for a shorter period of time.
