How does a solar lamp work?
Photovoltaic cells store sunlight during the day to charge the rechargeable batteries, which then power the bulbs at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in a location that receives full sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.
Are you living in a winter region?
It’s not as easy, but you can still install solar-powered lights even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar panel connected by a cable that can range from one to five meters, ideal for very dark outdoor spaces. If you reside in a rainy or winter region, your solar lights will still work but will be less powerful.
Why isn’t my solar lamp working?
Generally, the cause of malfunctioning lights is the rechargeable battery. It often happens that the batteries do not charge or do not hold the charge. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular battery, and you will quickly find out why your solar light is not working. It is unlikely that the solar panel module is the cause.
For more information, see our maintenance guide.
How to charge a solar lamp without sunlight?
Solar cells continue to store solar energy even in dark weather or through a window. So, you can charge your solar lamps even without direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be less powerful and last for a shorter duration.
