How does solar lighting work?
During the day, photovoltaic cells absorb solar energy to charge the batteries, which then power the light bulbs at night. Since solar lamps are powered by sunlight, they should be placed in an area that receives maximum sun exposure, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.
What if you have a very shady courtyard?
It’s not as easy, but you can still use rechargeable solar lights, even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar module connected by a wire, ranging from three to nine meters, which is great for an outdoor space in the dark. If you live in a rainy or winter area, your solar lights will still work, but they will be less powerful.
Why is my solar lamp not working anymore?
Most of the time, the problem lies with the battery. Sometimes, the batteries do not charge or do not retain power. Our best advice is to replace the solar battery with a regular battery, and you will immediately know why your solar lamp is not working. It is very rare for the solar panel module to be the cause of the problem.
For more details, refer to our maintenance guide.
How to charge a solar lamp without sunlight?
Solar cells continue to absorb solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a window. So you can charge your solar lights without direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be lower, and the duration of the light will be shorter.
