How Does a Solar Light Work?
The newest generation of photovoltaic cells absorbs sunlight during the day to charge the rechargeable batteries, which then power the light at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in an area that receives ample sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.
Living in a Winter Region?
While it may not be as convenient, you can still install solar-powered lights even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar module connected by a cable that can range from two to six meters, perfect for an outdoor area without direct sunlight. If you reside in a rainy or winter region, your solar lights will still work, but they will be less powerful.
My Solar Light Isn’t Working?
Typically, the cause of malfunctioning solar lights is the rechargeable battery. Sometimes, the batteries do not charge or hold the energy. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular battery, and you will immediately know why your solar light is not working. It is unlikely that the solar energy module is the issue.
For more details, refer to our maintenance guide.
How to Charge a Solar Light Without Sunlight?
Solar modules still absorb solar energy even on cloudy days or through a window. So you can recharge your solar lights outside direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be less powerful and the duration of the light will be shorter.
