How do Solar Lights Work?

The latest generation of photovoltaic cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the batteries, which then power the bulbs at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in an area that receives full sunlight, ideally for eight to ten hours or more per day.

What if You Have a Shaded Yard?

It’s not as convenient, but you can still install solar lights, even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar panel connected by a cable that can range from two to six meters, perfect for a heavily shaded outdoor space. If you live in a rainy or wintry region, your solar wall lights will still work, but they will be less powerful.

My Solar Light Isn’t Working?

Usually, the reason for malfunctioning lights is the rechargeable battery. Often, the batteries may not charge or hold their charge. Our best advice is to replace the solar battery with a regular battery, and you will immediately know why your solar light is no longer working. It is possible that the solar module is the issue, but this is unlikely.

How to Recharge a Solar Light without Sunlight?

Solar panels continue to absorb solar energy even on cloudy days or through a window. So you can recharge your solar lights outside of direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be dimmer and the duration of illumination will be shorter.
