How Do Solar Lights Work?

Photovoltaic cells accumulate solar energy during the day to charge the batteries, which then power the lights at night. Since the lamps are powered by solar energy, they need to be positioned in a spot that receives full sun, ideally for eight to ten hours or more per day.

No Direct Sunlight Available?

It’s not as straightforward, but you can still install solar-powered lights even in a winter region. We have solar lights with a separate solar panel connected by a wire that can vary in length from two to seven meters, perfect for shaded outdoor areas. If you live in a rainy or wintery region, your solar lights will still work but they will be less powerful.

Why is My Solar Lamp Not Working?

Commonly, the cause of a malfunctioning solar light is the rechargeable battery. It often happens that the batteries do not charge or do not retain energy. Our best advice is to replace the solar battery with a regular one and you will immediately know why your solar lamp is not working. It is unlikely that the solar panel itself is the issue.

How to Charge a Solar Lamp Without Sunlight?

Solar panels continue to absorb solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a window. So you can recharge your solar lamps away from direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be lower and the battery life shorter.
