How does solar lighting work?
The latest generation of photovoltaic cells absorbs sunlight during the day to charge the batteries, which then power the bulb at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in a location that receives full sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.
What if you have a very shady courtyard?
It’s not as convenient, but you can still install solar-powered lights, even in a winter region. We have solar lights with a separate solar module connected by a cable that can extend from one to six meters, ideal for a very dark outdoor area. If you live in a rainy or winter area, your solar lights will still work but will be less powerful.
My solar lamp doesn’t work?
Often, the cause of a malfunctioning lamp is the rechargeable battery. It frequently happens that the batteries don’t charge or hold their charge. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular battery, and you will immediately know why your solar light is not working. It is unlikely that the solar panel itself is the problem.
For more information, refer to our maintenance guide.
How to recharge a solar lamp without sunlight?
Solar modules continue to absorb solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a window. So you can recharge your solar lights outside of direct sunlight. However, the light will be less strong and will last for a shorter time.
