How does a solar lamp work?
Organic photovoltaic cells collect sunlight during the day to charge the rechargeable batteries, which then power the LED bulb at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they should be placed in an area that receives full sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.
No direct sunlight in your area?
It’s not as convenient, but you can still install solar lights, even in a rainy area. We have solar lights with a separate solar panel connected by a wire that can range from two to six meters, which is great for heavily shaded outdoor areas. If you live in a rainy or winter area, your solar lights will still work, but they will be less powerful.
My solar lamp is not working?
Often, the cause of a malfunctioning solar light is the rechargeable battery. It is common for batteries to not charge or hold the power. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular one and you will immediately know why your solar light is not working. It is possible that the solar panel is the cause, but this is unlikely.
For more details, see our maintenance guide.
How to charge a solar lamp without sunlight?
Solar cells continue to absorb solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a glass surface. So you can charge your solar lamps outside direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be less powerful and last for a shorter period of time.
