How Do Solar Lights Work?

Organic photovoltaic cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the rechargeable batteries, which then power the light bulbs at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in a location that receives maximum sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.

What If You Don’t Have Direct Sunlight?

It’s not as straightforward, but you can still have rechargeable solar lights even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar module connected by a cable that can range from two to nine meters, perfect for heavily shaded outdoor spaces. If you live in a rainy or winter region, your solar lights will still work, but they will be weaker.

Why Isn’t My Solar Light Working Anymore?

Usually, the culprit for malfunctioning lights is the battery. Batteries often fail to charge or hold the energy. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular one, and you will quickly find out why your solar light stopped working. It’s very rare for the solar panel module itself to be the cause.
