How Does a Solar Light Work?

Solar cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the rechargeable batteries, which then power the LED bulb at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they should be positioned in a place that receives the maximum amount of sun, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.

What if You Have a Shady Yard?

It’s not as convenient, but you can still install solar-powered lights even in a winter region. We have solar lights with a separate solar panel connected by a wire that can vary from three to ten meters, perfect for a dark outdoor area. If you live in a rainy or winter area, your solar lights will still work but they will be less powerful.

My Solar Light is Not Working Anymore?

Typically, the reason for malfunctioning lights is the rechargeable battery. It often happens that the batteries do not charge or do not hold the charge. Our best recommendation is to replace the solar battery with a regular battery and you will quickly find out why your solar light is not working. It is possible that the solar panel is the issue, but this is very rare.

Solar cells continue to absorb solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a glass. So, you can charge your solar lights outside direct sunlight. However, the light will be less powerful and will last for a shorter period of time.
