How Do Solar Lights Work?

Organic photovoltaic cells absorb solar light during the day to charge the rechargeable batteries, which then power the light at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in a location that receives maximum sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.

Don’t Have Direct Sunlight?

It’s not as convenient, but you can still install solar-powered lights even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar module connected by a wire that can range from one to six meters, perfect for a dark outdoor area. If you live in a rainy or winter-prone area, your solar lights will still function, but they may be less powerful.

Why Is My Solar Light Not Working?

Usually, the culprit of a malfunctioning solar light is the battery. Sometimes the batteries don’t charge or hold power. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular battery, and you will immediately know why your solar light is not working. It is possible that the solar module is at fault, but that is very unlikely.

How to Charge a Solar Light Without Sunlight?

Solar cells continue to store solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a window. So you can charge your solar lights outside direct sunlight. But the brightness will be less powerful and last for a shorter period.
