How does solar lighting work?
The new generation of photovoltaic cells harnesses solar energy during the day to charge rechargeable batteries, which in turn powers the light at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they should be placed in an area that receives the maximum amount of sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.
What if you don’t have direct sunlight?
It is not as straightforward, but you can still have solar lights even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar panel connected by a wire that can range from three to five meters, ideal for very shaded outdoor areas. If you reside in a rainy or winter area, your solar lights will still function, but they will be less powerful.
My solar lamp is not working anymore?
Often, the cause of malfunction in your solar lights is the rechargeable battery. It is common for the batteries to not charge or hold the energy. Our top recommendation is to replace the solar battery with a regular battery, and you will immediately know why your solar lamp is not working. It is possible that the solar module is the issue, but this is highly unlikely.
For more information, refer to our maintenance guide.
How to charge a solar lamp without sunlight?
Solar cells continue to absorb solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a window. So, you can charge your solar lights without direct sunlight. However, the light will be less intense and last for a shorter duration.
