How Does a Solar Light Work?

Photovoltaic cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the rechargeable batteries, which then light up the LED bulb at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in an area that receives plenty of sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.

Do You Only Have a Very Shady Yard?

It’s not as straightforward, but you can still install solar-powered lights even in a fully shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar module connected by a cable that can range from one to eight meters, ideal for very shaded outdoor spaces. If you live in a rainy or wintry region, your solar lights will still work, but they will be weaker.

Why Doesn’t My Solar Light Work Anymore?

Usually, the cause of malfunctioning lights is the battery. It often happens that the batteries don’t charge or hold the charge. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular one, and you will quickly find out why your solar light is not working. It is possible that the solar panel is also the problem, but this is very unlikely.

Solar modules continue to absorb solar energy even on cloudy days or through a window. So you can recharge your solar lights outside direct sunlight. However, the light will be weaker and will last for a shorter time.
