How Do Solar Lights Work?

Organic photovoltaic cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the batteries, which then power the bulbs at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in an area that gets plenty of sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.

Do You Live in a Winter Region?

It’s not as straightforward, but you can have solar-powered lights even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar panel connected by a cable that can range from two to six meters, perfect for heavily shaded outdoor spaces. If you live in a rainy or winter region, your solar lights will still work, but they will be less powerful.

Why Isn’t My Solar Light Working Anymore?

Often, the cause of malfunctioning lights is the battery. It’s common for the batteries not to charge or hold the energy. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular one, and you’ll quickly know why your solar light isn’t working. It’s possible that the solar panel module is the issue, but this is very rare.

Solar panels continue to absorb solar energy even in dark weather or through a window. So you can charge your solar lights without direct sunlight. However, the light will be less powerful and last for a shorter duration.
