How does a solar lamp work?
Organic photovoltaic cells store solar energy during the day to charge rechargeable batteries, which then power the bulb at night. As the lights are powered by solar energy, they should be positioned in a location that receives full sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.
What if I have a very shaded courtyard?
It is not as simple, but you can still install solar energy lamps even in a completely shaded area. We have solar lights with a separate solar module connected by wire, which can range from two to seven meters, ideal for a very dark outdoor space. If you live in a rainy or winter area, your solar lamps will still work, but they will be weaker.
My solar lamp isn’t working?
Most of the time, the reason for a malfunctioning lamp is the battery. Sometimes the batteries do not charge or hold power. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular one, and you will quickly find out why your solar light is not working. It is very rare for the solar module to be the cause of the issue.
For more details, see our maintenance guide.
How to recharge a solar lamp without sunlight?
Solar panels continue to absorb solar energy even on cloudy days or through a window. So you can charge your solar lamps even without direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be weaker, and the light will last for a shorter period of time.
