How Do Solar Lights Work?

Photovoltaic cells store sunlight during the day to charge the batteries, which then power the bulb at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in an area that receives plenty of sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.

What if You Only Have a Shady Yard?

It’s not as convenient, but you can install rechargeable solar lights even in a rainy area. We have solar lights with separate solar panels connected by wire, which can vary from three to seven meters, ideal for a dark outdoor area. If you live in a rainy or winter area, your solar lights will still work, but they will be less powerful.

Why Isn’t My Solar Light Working?

Often, the reason for a malfunctioning light is the rechargeable battery. It often happens that the batteries don’t charge or hold their power. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a normal battery, and you will immediately know why your solar light isn’t working. It is possible that the solar panel is the problem, but that is very unlikely.

How to Charge a Solar Light Without Sunlight?

Solar panels continue to absorb solar energy even in cloudy weather or through a window. So you can still recharge your solar lights away from direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be weaker and the duration shorter.
