How do solar lights work?
Next-generation photovoltaic cells absorb sunlight during the day to charge the batteries, which then power the LED bulbs at night. Since the lights are powered by solar energy, they need to be placed in an area that receives maximum sunlight, ideally eight to ten hours or more per day.
Don’t have direct sunlight?
It may not be as convenient, but you can still install solar lights even in a winter region. We have solar lights with a separate solar module connected by a cable, ranging from two to seven meters, which is great for shaded outdoor areas. If you live in a rainy or winter region, your solar lights will still function, but they will be less powerful.
Why is my solar light not working anymore?
Typically, the cause of malfunctioning lights is the battery. It often happens that the batteries do not charge or hold the power. Our best advice is to replace the rechargeable battery with a regular one, and you will immediately know why your solar light is not working anymore. It is very rare for the solar panel itself to be the cause of the issue.
For more details, see our maintenance guide.
How to charge a solar light without sunlight?
Solar panels continue to absorb solar energy even in dim conditions or through glass. So you can recharge your solar lights outside direct sunlight. However, the brightness will be less powerful and will last for a shorter period.
